Secret behind reflections in Watercolor

Reflection is nothing but an image of an object mirrored on a surface


Any object lying on a mirror reflects itself upside down.


It is really hard to capture reflections in the real world unless you sit there and study for hours. Therefore we must simplify it in a way to get a realistic result. There are two types of reflections: hard and soft reflections.

As you can see below, there are two images showing the soft and hard reflections.

Image A looks softer with less distortion on the water whereas Image B has a lot of distortion. Softer reflections can be seen in a foggy landscape and in the
